Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa has to offer.
Run by brothers Tertius and Kobus Boshoff – winemaker and viticulturist respectively Stellenrust consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa. The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines.
Stellenrust Wines boasts today with being one of the largest family-owned wine estates in South Africa carrying through generations of winemaking skills and the legacy of their motto ‘where excellence meets winemaking’ put forward in every bottle.
The winery produces more than 30 different wines, but it is particularly well-known for its range of Chenin Blancs, which are produced from the Bottelary Hills plot.
Winner of the IWSC Chenin Blanc Trophy for the fourth time, has produced some of the finest wines from the Stellenbosch region since the winery’s establishment in 1928.
Stellenrust Wines Chenin Blanc 2018 is made from grapes that were harvested from decomposed granite soils and vineyards varying in age from 30 to 43 years. On the nose strong lime and tropical fruit with a mineral palate of grape fruit and pear drop.
