Prime Spot Tignus is the passion project of Laibach Winemaker Francois van Zyl. The wine is a 50:50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Cinsault. Van Zyl sources the Cabernet from old unirrigated bush vines in Stellenbosch, and the Cinsault from Paarl.

Winemaker Francois van Zyl had this to say: "Since the release some months ago, Prime Spot has travelled with me around South Africa. I have enjoyed many bottles with friends from all walks of life and it’s been a truly humbling experience. The response has been overwhelming, I have been amazed at the sincere interest that has been shown in the wine, and the many genuinely interested people with whom I shared my experience of crafting what I term ‘iconic’ wines. Iconic because of the style, the selection of fruit from various terroirs, the delicate process of handling the fruit in the cellar through the maturation period until the wine is ‘ready’.

It amazes me how the wine seems to get better with time, always showing a different profile and complexity. Prime Spot is a wine for any occasion, great or small."
