For the Kloof Street Rouge, Chris and Andrea Mullineux take a blend of Southern Rhone varieties together into a bright, fresh and balanced red in a Mediterranean style.
Made mostly from Syrah/Shiraz, with smaller amounts of Tinta Barocca, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan thrown in, each variety brings something different to the table. The Tinta Barocca brings the tannin, Cinsault the perfume, Grenache the lovely undertone of dark fruit, Carignan keeps it fresh while the Syrah ties it all together.
A great red to bring along to a dinner party, or just to explore the fantastic wines coming out of South Africa.
