Berg Herring situated in the beautiful Sellicks Beach in South Australia opened their cellar door on boxing day 2020.

The cellar door is located in Sellicks Beach in a former Methodist Church built in 1862. It is just a stone’s throw down the road from the historic Victory Hotel and has expansive views of the ocean and hills of Sellicks Beach. The property was bought by Sam Dunlevy and Chloe Fitzgerald in January 2015 and they have been restoring the sandstone church and grounds since this time, with the intent of selling their curated wines from there. Sam and Cloe have done the majority of the work themselves, chipping away on weekends and evenings as time permits around their day jobs. Cloe and Sam have both been in the wine industry for around 15 years, Sam as a Winemaker and Chloe as Product Manager/New Product Development.

Berg Herring is a McLaren Vale label focused on the future, with a deep investigation into heat-tolerant Mediterranean varieties that are thriving in the warming climate, and a style built around earlier picking and minimal intervention to fashion fruit-forward wines that are pitched for wine drinkers – who are increasingly embracing bright styles made for earlier consumption.

Their cellar door is open for tastings and sales Friday – Monday, 12pm – 6pm so do make sure to pop in for a tasting when you are in the area.
